Defendente Ferrari
Defendente Ferrari (c. 1480–1540) was an Italian Renaissance painter active primarily in Piedmont, especially in Chivasso and the surrounding region. Strongly influenced by Leonardo da Vinci and the Lombard school, he is known for devotional altarpieces and Madonnas marked by gentle expressions, refined drawing, and a lyrical sense of grace. His works reflect a quiet spirituality and a distinctive blend of High Renaissance harmony with local devotional sensitivity.
