Domenichino

Domenico Zampieri (1581–1641), known as Domenichino, was an Italian Baroque painter associated with the Bolognese school and a leading pupil of Annibale Carracci. Renowned for classical balance, expressive gesture, and clear narrative, he produced influential fresco cycles and altarpieces in Rome. His work united Raphael’s harmony with the reforming ideals of the Carracci academy.
